Admission Process

The admission process is intended to be personal and informative for all prospective families.

School Tour

Families are encouraged to visit the school for a tour of the campus and talk with our admission staff. Appointments can be made by contacting us via E-mail at aissulaimaniah@sabis.net.

Application and Required Documents

There is no application deadline, but it is recommended that the admission process be initiated early on. Applications are accepted on a space availability basis throughout the school year. Please note that there is a joining fee due to initiate the admission process and cover administrative costs.

Along with the student application form, you will be asked to provide us with the following documents:

  1. An application form

  2. Three recent photos

  3. A birth certificate (original or stamped copy)

  4. An original school report for the last three years

  5. A recent attested report card:

    1. From the Ministry of Education in the country applicants are coming from and the Saudi Embassy, if transferred from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

    2. From the Saudi Ministry of Education if transferred from outside Riyadh

  6. A statement from the transferring school stating the last exams taken

  7. A copy of the student’s, mother’s, and father’s passport

  8. A vaccination card

  9. Applicant identification:

    1. For non-Saudi Arabian applicants, copy of renewed resident permit (“Iqama”)

    2. For Saudi Arabian applicants, copy of ID

  10. A sponsor’s letter from your workplace

  11. Financial clearance from last attended school if transferred from a school outside Riyadh

  12. Original Ministry of Education’s approval from previous school if transferred from outside Riyadh

  13. Parent’s/guardian’s statement (your statement as to why you chose our school)

Testing

Students applying to enter Grade 1 and above sit for diagnostic tests as part of the admission process. Upon completion, the diagnostic tests are marked and a decision upon placement is made by the school.

Admission Decisions

Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of the candidates. Results of diagnostic testing and previous school records are considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional criteria for admission include motivation, social and emotional development, willingness to work hard, and the ability of AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah to accommodate the needs of the candidate.

Please note that, in order to complete the registration, the above mentioned documents should be presented upon initiation of the admission process in support of the application. A final admission decision cannot be made without this information.

Once accepted and the required fees are paid, a place for the student is reserved.
