Academic Life
High School (Grades 10 – 12)
In grades 10 to 12, students are prepared for local and externally recognized exams. They are qualified to sit for the Qudurat and Tahsili exams and can choose to take the British-based International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A-Level exams and American-based Advanced Placement® (AP®) exams among others. They graduate from Grade 12 with the High School Diploma.

U.S. High School Diploma
AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah is accredited by: Accreditation International (Ai), Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), the National Council for Private Schools Association (NCPSA), and the Saudi Ministry of Education. Our school is also a U.S. State Department-approved school, which means that the AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah High School Diploma is recognized by colleges and universities in the U.S. as well as other countries worldwide.
Advanced Placement® (AP®)
The AP® program is another option available to AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah students. The AP® is offered by The College Board in the U.S. and is taken by almost 2.5 million students worldwide. AP® exams fulfill entrance requirements at universities in the U.S., Europe, and worldwide.
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Exams
At AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah, we offer our students in grades 9, 10, and 11 the opportunity to take International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations, which are offered by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in the U.K.
Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is reputed to be the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for students aged 14 to 19. IGCSEs are recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide and are seen as an international passport to progression and success.
AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah is accredited by Cambridge IGCSE.
Advanced Subsidiary & Advanced Level (AS & A Levels) Qualifications
AS and A Level qualification are a British, subject-based qualification for students aged 16 and above. These qualifications take place over the course of 2 years and students are usually required to take a minimum of 3 subjects. Although they are a U.K. qualification, most universities and colleges around the world recognize As and A Levels as a suitable entry qualification.
AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah is also accredited by Cambridge International AS & A Level.
